Outsourcing Exit Interviews

In the growing trend of HR outsourcing, add Exit Interviews. The Chennai headquartered Ma Foi Consultants has pioneered this trend in India and they are reporting 100 % growth every year.
Not surprisingly, Ma Foi’s clients are IT/BPO and financial services companies.These are the industries with large manpower and high attrition rates to justify outsourcing. Ma Foi uses a mix of on-line questionnaire and an offline interview process. The data drawn from the exit interviews are analysed and presented as recommendations. A neutral third party conducting the interview is stated as the key benefit.
With recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation, training and now exit interviews getting outsourced, is it exit time for the HR departments, as we know them ?

I recently heard of an instance where a US based 1 billion USD revenue Software Product company recently fired the first MD of their 10 years long Indian operations based on the recommendations made to the top management by an independent HR Consulting firm. This HR firm has been hired by the software co. to provide feedback on the performance (only) of their employees (including all management levels)………….One wonders, how many Indian S/w companies would even think of this….

Shravan : Practically this outsourcing of HR should be done for senior levels only . No indian software company would ever dare to dream this simply because of the fear of being exposed to the reality.

Shravan : It is laudable that the firm acted on the recommendations of the HR consulting firm and sacked the CEO. It could be also possible that the HR Consulting firm was hired by the board or the US HQ to build a case for sacking the CEO. Most consultants are ever pliant. Paapi Pet ka sawaal hai

Mohan, agree with you here. Anyways it would probably be better than the crap forms these HR people give you to fill up when you decide to say goodbye. I have been asked to fill up a form which probably has been in existence since mid 90’s. God knows what they do with all these….. Have we ever heared of an initiative/model being created on the basis of this data?
